From our experience, noises in the roof-space (loft) are usually caused by one or two of the following rats, mice, squirrels or birds. On a very rare occasion, bats may also be nesting in your loft. As all bat species are protected, it is important that their nests are undisturbed therefore would need to be removed before treatment. Rats typically produce between 6-7 litters per year, while mice can have up to 8 litters, this can lead to a rapid infestation of a property. These rodents are carriers of numerous harmful diseases, including Salmonella and Weil’s Disease (Leptospirosis). Additionally, they frequently chew on electrical wires within walls and lofts. Addressing this issue promptly is crucial to prevent the transmission of diseases to humans and to prevent potential property damage, such as fires caused by damaged wires.
